The Department of Fire Services (DFS) is recruiting to fill the Call/Volunteer Recruit Instructional Program Coordinator position. This is a part-time, contract position with no benefits.

Duties:
Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the Call/Volunteer Recruit Training Program at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy (MFA) under the leadership and direction of the supervising Program Coordinator III (PCIII) and guidance from Curriculum Education Specialist
Prepares annual budget and annual training objectives in collaboration with the PCIIIMonitors adherence to the annual budget as well as future forecasting for the programServes as the primary subject matter expert for the programResponsible for the overall delivery of all activities and sessions in theprogramMaintains IFSTA website and is the point of contact for facilitating online coursesKnowledgeable and understands online learning platforms (Adobe Connect), obtains and maintains credentials for use and oversightMust meet and maintain all requirements for live fire qualificationsCompletes all statewide Commonwealth TrainingResponsible for new course development as well as program updates in accordance with current NFPA standards on Professional Qualifications for Firefighters, including curricula, instructional materials and student materialsResponsible for facilitating the program's logistics needs for class deliveries not hosted on academy grounds (Training venue, and supporting engine and aerial ladder apparatus, etc.)Prepares and ensures all facilities, props and equipment are ready for program deliverySchedules course sessions and required information in the Learning Management System (LMS), including but not limited to location, resources, instructors, crib support, lodging/hotel, course materialsCommunicates and collaborates with other Academy Coordinators to manage program delivery logistics as necessaryCreates flyers for marketing distribution, when applicableVerifies and proofs all program-related press releases for the PIOAdministers the selection of students program enrollmentResearches, schedules and secures speakers, lecturers, subject matter experts, or any other participants for the program as neededActs as liaison between MFA and partner entities to deliver specific collaborative and comprehensive programsResponsible for maintaining and completing all course completion documentation paperwork, rosters, attendance records and score sheetsCommunicate with the certification branch to schedule closed exams and verify student course completion by submitting master rosters and completed score sheets as neededResponsible for providing on-site leadership and guidance for all program deliveries - travel should be expectedWorks with Staff Services to recruit and develop instructors for the programDirects technical supervision of assistant coordinators and all instructors in the programHelps develop new instructors through coaching, mentoring, teaching and providing authentic feedbackOn an annual basis or as needed, evaluate instructors who work in the programAssigns and supervises the instructors who teach within the discipline to ensure quality and consistencyCollaborates with Program Administrative Assistant on maintaining all student records and providing updates to Fire Chiefs or their designeesMaintains a list of future class requestsWorks to be accessible to students, instructors and staff to reconcile or prevent student or classroom issuesOperates in accordance with the Standard Operating Policies of the Commonwealth, DFS and MFAActively participates in Coordinator meetingsMay be assigned additional projects by MFA managementThe Department of Fire Services (DFS) is recruiting to fill the Call/Volunteer Recruit Instructional Program Coordinator position. Minimum Qualifications:
·Must have a minimum of four years of relevant fire service or emergency service industry experience such as a fire officer, fire investigator, training officer, or fire prevention with a department.
·Must have completed Fire Instructor II course and been promoted to Fire Instructor II with the MFA and one year in curriculum development or a minimum of four year of equivalent experience of instructional curriculum development and course delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Basic understanding of all courses offered by the program group
·200 hoursof instructional time in the prior two years
·Basic knowledge of theMFA's Learning Management System (LMS)
·Basic understanding of leadership principles
·Fire Instructor II certification
·Must have superior interpersonal skills
·Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel andPowerPoint
·Must be well organized and a team player
·Must have demonstrated work record to support the skills required
·Must have thorough knowledge of the program that is being coordinated
