**Description**
Apple’s Platform Architecture group is looking for a motivated engineer with a strong background in camera quality/performance and power measurements and analysis. In this roll you will, • Perform analysis of camera systems in smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop displays. • Identify image quality differences using subjective and objective measurements of still images and videos from camera systems and highlight deltas and opportunities for improvements. • Perform electrical power measurements on systems where possible and evaluate energy efficiency of the camera systems, including still and video capture modes. • Work cross functionally with teams owning different pieces of the camera system to highlight and present findings.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ BS in EE/CE, Physics, Optics or similar engineering degree.
+ Experience with modern mobile camera technologies and tradeoffs.
+ Experience with process and tools required for evaluating camera performance.

+ Minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
+ Expertise in using spatial resolution, tone mapping, color accuracy, dynamic range, focus accuracy, use of HDR, camera launch performance, camera app responsiveness, video modes, and power consumption to evaluate camera performance.
+ Experience with evaluating quality and performance of modern consumer cameras, including smartphone, tablet, laptop, and display cameras.
+ Familiarity with camera system integration challenges and power measurements.
+ Ability to evaluate a camera based on customer-level expected usage.
+ Android and iOS smartphone camera experience.
+ Self-driven with initiative and passion for camera technologies, accurate data gathering and analysis.
+ Executive presentation and communication skills.

+ At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
