Required Qualifications:
Attendance in or graduation high school or equivalent.At least 16 years of age by the start of the camp season.Ability to comply with Suffolk County Department of Health requirements.Ability to understand and carry out educational program tasks and objectives.Ability to work outdoors, performing various types of educational and physical activities.Ability to handle health and safety issues and/or emergencies.Paid or volunteer experience working with children and the public.Have an appreciation and understanding of the natural environment.Must be able to work for the full camp season, which includes training before camp and wrap-up after camp has ended.Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.Ability to meet acceptable background check standards, if required.The candidate must be able to work effectively with a wide range of diverse young peoplePreferred Qualifications:
Attendance in or graduation from a recognized college/university or equivalent.Additional education and training in the field of education. Additional education in environmental science, horticulture, animal science, agriculture, and natural science.Some teaching experience. Ability to assist with teaching and a keen interest in educating youth.Leadership abilities.A positive and energetic attitude.POSITION DETAILS:
Salary: $16-17 per hour
Schedule: NONEXEMPT – TEMP: June 30, 2025 – August 15, 2025
