Summary You will serve as a CAMP DIRECTOR in the CAMP SERVICES ofMARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.*** Responsibilities You will be responsible for the oversight and prioritization of all installation related functions and activities aboard the camp. You will manage Camp Services and Operations staff and collaborates and/or coordinates with MCBB functional areas to ensure and facilitate public safety, installation protection, mission readiness, and quality-of-life aboard the camp. You will advise the Camp Commander on all matters relative to the mission, functions, and daily operations to meet camp objectives and support tenant requirements. You will develop staff programs to ensure productivity, cost effectiveness and efficiency of camp-services initiatives, and positions and enables staff as necessary to meet evolving camp and tenant mission requirements. You will discuss a wide range of subjects before command and staff, such as levels and changes in support services provided, reduction of cost to government, camp operations, real-property management, and military/local cooperative initiatives. You will serve as a camp liaison to for all Camp matters pertaining to real estate and space assignments, construction, renovation, repair, demolition and maintenance. You will execute a variety of supervisory duties and adjusts long and short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work; gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. You will ensure that all Camp Guard/Security Augmentation Force are trained and ready to respond to hazards, threats, incidents or events that require additional augmentation, including transitions to level-of threat II base-defense posture. You will foster and sustain a positive relationship between the Camp, local municipalities, and the wider local community through contacts with local officials such as Mayors, Police and Fire Chiefs, business leaders, and community/social groups. You will be responsible for all aspects of camp-sponsored special events (annual camp festivals, holiday events and parades, concerts) to include planning, execution, and coordination with appropriate stakeholders. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing several camp services matters (i.e., implementing policies, coordinating events/exercises, and community relations) while offering solutions and adjustments to meet requirements and develop long-range program plans, goals, and milestones that affect the safety and efficiency of day-to-day camp operations. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily. A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation. ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
