Ebenezer is looking for a Campus Director of Nutrition to join our team! This role is responsible for the coordination of the Food & Nutrition Services Department in our Skilled Nursing Facility and Assisted Livings in Burnsville, MN. Menu development Plans and develops various menus through Optima Solutions program in compliance with current regulations/requirements. Makes substitutions and revisions as needed to accommodate special diets.(ensure all changes are signed off by Registered Dietician) Solicits ideas from residents (via Resident Council) and staff. Listens to concerns and responds professionally and appropriately. Budget planning, record keeping and billing. Understands the budget process as it relates to the department. Maintains necessary records to determine staffing levels and financial requirements for the next year. Plans and administers department budget with the Administrator. Bills other departments and visitors as deemed appropriate. Maintain records on meal census, menus and food costs. Send corporate monthly reports. Submits bills for payment using proper codes and enters them into accounts payable for budget tracking. Assures credits are received. Ability to process payroll electronically. Ability to plan direct and problem solve activities of the department. Establishes departmental regulations and procedures in conformance with government regulations and company standards for organization of supervision of nutrition services. Inspects work habits, storage and serving areas to determine that optimal sanitation practices and direction governing nutrition services are followed. Meets emergency needs when there is a lack of food, staff or natural resources. Review and continually update department policy and procedures in compliance with Ebenezer guidelines. Establish yearly departmental goals and approaches. Establish effective relationships with other managers and their staff and other resident centered services to provide optimal resident care. Assist with coordination/planning/implementing interdepartmental activities such as Therapeutic Recreation, Resident Council, Holiday meals, outings such as picnics and other special events. Food Service Operations/Sanitation/Safety Audits serving areas, kitchen, kitchenettes, dining rooms and dish rooms for sanitation & regulatory compliance. Ensures storage areas are maintained appropriately. Adds & updates Material Safety Data Sheets as needed Hires & Supervises Food & Nutrition Services Staff Ability to exercise supervisory responsibility over subordinates. Interview and makes final decisions on whether to hire job applicants for the department. Properly enforces disciplinary policies through preparation and issuance of corrective action. Works with Human Resources regarding disciplinary suspensions and discharges. Maintains good working environment by effectively addressing grievances. Prepares, issues and signs performance evaluations. Develops work schedules and assigns/ approves overtime while taking into account PPL requests. Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, verbally and in writing. Assigns employees to work according to the facilities personnel policies and procedures. Approves or denies vacation requests. Conducts meetings/in-service with team members Solicits ideas from staff. Contributes to facilities positive employee relations environment by expressing appreciation of employees, by treating them with dignity and respect, and by answering questions or resolving complaints whenever possible. On call 24/7 for departmental needs and staffing. Preceptor for Students Directly/indirectly supervises students in the facility for their field experience hours. Help the students plan the experiences and projects Reports on students learning experiences to the school of choice instructor by reviewing and assigning lessons. Performs other duties as assigned and directed. Ability to answer phone and write down and verbally communicate the requests. Fills in shifts as needed. Assists with events as needed. Required: Vocational/Technical training or Associate Degree 1 or more years of previous experience CDM Certification Approved Food Sanitation Safety Course. (We accept Food Sanitation Safety Course from the following companies) Serv Safe Always Food Safe TAP Series, LLC Preferred: Bachelor's Degree: Registered Dietician and/or related field.
