Position Summary The Campus Dispatcher maintains two-way radio contact with campus police and public safety officers, monitors campus alarms, and operates the telephones and communications equipment in a communications center of a State educational facility. Duties are usually performed in a normal work setting. Minimum Qualifications from Classification Minimum Qualifications are not established for this classification. The appointing authority is responsible for recruitment and selection. Refer to Personnel Rule 105-43-005. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency.
One year experience with high level of public contact which included answering questions, and gathering and relaying information to others.
Computer keyboarding utilizing databases to input and/or retrieve information.
No criminal record (a background investigation will be conducted prior to appointment).
Must meet Oregon State Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Academy (DPSST) standards for acceptance to training (including minimum age of 21)
Must successfully complete any required dispatch/telecommunicator training prior to completion of trial service, including attending DPSST Basic Telecommunicator Academy and obtaining a DPSST Telecommunicator Certification; and must be able to become certified by Law Enforcement Data System and RegJIN system.
Successfully pass a Medical Screening.

Work Days/Hours Sunday to Saturday, 40 hours per week, schedule varies Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting annual salary rate for this position will be between $20.62 and $21.24 per hour. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
