About You and This Role As a TS&D Specialist at Dow, Wiesbaden, you will support customer needs by assisting in the development of new infrastructure and mobility applications. You will provide technical knowledge on the use, handling, and management of Dow products. In this role, you will require conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures, as well as general business knowledge developed through education or prior experience related to your discipline and functional area. You will need to have the ability to exchange straightforward information with others and ask questions to check for understanding. It is your responsibility to use established procedures and practices to analyze and resolve standard problems. You will be accountable for assigned contributions with no direct supervisory responsibilities. Your performance impacts your own work with limited impact on your team. You will need to use established procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Responsibilities + Developing value-creating solutions for our customers’ challenges (with defined scope and impact). + Effectively applying the scientific method to solve technical issues. + Investigating and resolving customer product quality and performance complaints to positively impact customer experience. + Formulating hypotheses, conducting experiments, generating reproducible data, interpreting results, and modifying hypotheses accordingly, with the support of senior colleagues. + Leading projects to qualify our products to our customers, developing prototypes and applications, testing properties, and generating well-organized data. + Participating in brainstorming sessions to support the development of intellectual capital and responsibly protecting Dow’s intellectual capital through appropriate use of secrecy and joint development agreements. Qualifications + A minimum of a Master's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a Science-related discipline is required. + Solid understanding of chemical/mechanical engineering principles to be applied to synthesis, characterization, formulation, application development, and optimization of processes. + Data science skills are a plus. + Dependable and responsible; you collaborate well in a team environment but are also capable of working with minimal supervision. + English is required. + Driven by technology and innovation; a critical thinker with a drive for change.
