Position Title Campus Recreation Assistant Student Status Work Study Optional –You are not required to be a Federal Work Study Recipient to hold this position. Work Location West Plains Campus Department West Plains Student Life & Development Hiring Range $12.30 per hour Department/Employer Operating Hours 12 pm-8 pm Mon.-Thurs., 9 am-9 pm Fri.-Sat. How many hours per week are required? 15-25 hours Description of Primary Duties 1. Answer and process phone calls, emails, and scheduling of activities.
2. Assist in keeping the Student Recreation Center clean and well maintained.
3. Assist in the execution of intramural sports activities.
4. Assist students and community members with checking in and out recreation equipment.
5. Assists with the safety of individuals in the event of a storm. (During working hours.)
6. Monitors access to the Student Recreation Center by checking people in before granting admission to the facility.
7. Accurately receive and document money from community members for facility usage.
8. Maintain a balanced receipt log.
9. Maintain a safe and controlled environment.
10. Enforce and adhere to all policies and procedures of the Student Recreation Center
11. Recognize and respond effectively to incidents and provide proper documentation when necessary.
12. Attend all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
13. Assist with the promoting and executing of various programs and activities.
14. Assist with facility setup and breakdown.
15. Complete additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Student Life and Development. Required Qualifications 1. Must be able to frequently lift up to 75 pounds.
2. Proficient in basic computer functions and Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
3. Attention to detail and ability to handle basic cleaning (sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.)
4. Ability to work with individuals from various backgrounds.
5. Ability to prioritize with minimal supervision
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Ability to accurately count money and write receipts.
