Essential Responsibilities

As the Campus Security Officer, you will:

Complete all required training and maintain all required certification(s) for all aspects of security protectionRespond to on-site emergenciesMaintain effective campus access controls

Qualifications

  High School Diploma / GED 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Current State of New York Security Guard License (must have completed the 16 hour course)To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving recordAbility and willingness to walk and stand for extended periods of time in the course conducting of daily dutiesAbility and willingness to climb and descend stairsAbility to work 3rd shift (10pm to 6am) and overtime


Desired Characteristics

Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Security, or other criminal justice discipline from an accredited college or universityPrevious law enforcement / security experienceFirst Aid / AED / CPR certificationExperience with 2-way radioCall taking / dispatching experience in an emergency and service related environmentExperience in conducting minor criminal investigationsExperience in conducting Motor Vehicle Accident Investigations (Basic Level)Ability and willingness to complete written reports accuratelyAbility to willingness to communicate effectively in English in all oral and written communicationsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and OutlookGeneral knowledge in use of Internet ResourcesExcellent communication skills, interpersonal, oral and written

The base pay range for this position is $24.26 an hour. This position is also eligible for $1.00 an hour night shift bonus.
