Cancer Center Office of Clinical Research Office Manager

The UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center Office of Clinical Research is seeking a skilled Office Manager to join our dynamic team.  In this role, you’ll oversee daily office operations, manage administrative tasks, and support the efficient functioning of our office.  The ideal candidate will have a natural flexibility in handling day-to-day routines as well as surprises. The OCR Office Manager will provide strong, reliable support for operations in multiple offices by creating/maintaining procedures and communicating them office-wide.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Provide direct administrative support for the OCR Associate Directors including scheduling appointments, meetings, and events; maintaining individual, team, and space calendars; maintaining file systems; mailing and shipping packages; and updating contact/equipment databases and employee lists

Ensure office efficiency by maintaining common areas, organizing procedures, handling correspondence, managing file systems, and overseeing supplies and equipment

Oversee day-to-day office activities as main point of contact

Oversee and maintain office equipment for uninterrupted function, identify needs and acquire supplies, liaise with UVA Facilities and Housekeeping, and  coordinate correspondences/deliveries/shipments as needed

Manage all aspects of space/infrastructure planning (ex: moves, additions, changes to workstations) and provide answers, resources, and solutions when requested

Provide operational support for various committees (receiving requests, creating agendas, documenting & communicating outcomes)

 

This is a full-time, 100% on-site position. The incumbent will be primarily located at the Education Resource Center, but may occasionally need to travel within Charlottesville/Albemarle to support OCR Clinical Research staff.

Anticipated  Hiring Range: $20-$24/hr with benefits.

Minimum Requirements

Education:  High School Diploma           

Experience:  3 years of external experience, or 1 year of internal HR experience.

Preferred Skills

Strong time-management and people skills, high degree of flexibility, and excellent multitasking ability

Exceptional attention to detail

Proficiency with office applications, and aptitude for learning new software and systems

Physical Demands

This is an on-site primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does require daily walking between on-grounds locations, and will occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
