Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Co-Op to join our Cancer Immunology and Immune Modulation department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As a Co-Op, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of our innovative science.

Duties & Responsibilities Executes experiments using standard laboratory techniques to achieve defined objectives with minimal supervision during execution.Organizes own tasks to complete in timely fashion with regular check-in with manager.Learns how to develop, optimize and apply new methods/assays. Interprets results and identifies technical problems.Learns to troubleshoot and identify causes and, working with supervisor, begins to suggest solutions.Communicates and defends own experimental results in lab or small group meetings. Contributes methods and results sections to scientific documents.Independently reads literature and technical information to support individual research goals and to build understanding of the underlying scientific principles of supported projects and the methods used.Requirements Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship.Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.Major or minor in related field of internshipUndergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

Must understand scientific principles and research practices in the field of Cell biology and ImmunologyHave general research experience using a variety of standard laboratory techniquesPrevious experience in 3D cell culture and confocal microscopy is highly preferredExcellent oral and written communication skillsProficiency with computers and experience with data analysis softwareAbility to work effectively in highly collaborative research environmentCompensation Data
