Canline and Packaging Maintenance Technical Lead

Job Summary

The Canline and Packaging Maintenance Technical Lead ensures the company’s Canline and Packaging Operations are maintained and perform efficiently and effectively. Oversees the safe and efficient operation of the Mill Departments across the network through the United States and Canada. This role will ensure all sites operate in an efficient, consistent, economic manner in conformance with all applicable pollution, safety, GMP regulations, company policy, federal, provincial, and local laws.

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Develops business manufacturing and maintenance strategy and cascades the strategy to establish individual site expectations.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates Canline and Packaging Operation procedures.
• Prepare proposals for capital and operational expenditures.
• Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
• Partners with Mill Managers on the efficiency and optimization opportunities of each of the operational can lines at site
• Mentors and develops existing department maintenance technicians and support staff at each location.
• Improves customer service and satisfaction through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain all records as required and is familiar with all principles of the Food Safety Program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Four-year BS Degree strongly preferred.
• Understanding of practices and policies involved in Canline and Packaging Operations.
• 10+ years of experience in Canline and Packaging maintenance programs.
• Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Six Sigma or other Operations Management certifications are a plus.
• Ability to build relationships with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel, as required.
