POSITION SUMMARY

The Capital Markets Risk & Valuation Analyst will be a member of best execution and valuation team. The primary responsibility will be maintenance of our Mortgage Banking Risk Management System, Quantitative Risk Management (QRM), to ensure accurate loan pricing and mitigate interest rate risk. Additional responsibilities would include close coordination with other members of Capital Markets and cross-functional teams that rely on the downstream data provided by QRM for interest rate risk, hedge position, Profit & Loss Statement (P&L), and counterparty exposure.

DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

Report on pipeline valuation analytics, P&L, best execution, and interest rate risk modeling.Mitigate interest rate risk through updating or building components of the QRM model.Work closely with trade desk for market pricing inputs and duration risk.Maximize loan execution decisions through proper setup of QRM’s best execution optimization.Test, document, and summarize impact from model assumption changes.Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent.1-3 years’ experience with intermediate knowledge of Capital Markets concepts. Examples include, but are not limited to: Pricing, Hedging, Trading, Valuation, Pooling and Delivery.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Strong business, analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Ability to multi-task, respond well to pressure and deadlines.Work well individually and in a collaborative environment.Fast learner – able to assimilate new ideas and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Strong skills in Excel (graphs, pivot tables, formulas).Experience with data mining and reporting software (SQL, Oracle, Snowflake, Tableau, etc.).Working knowledge of Mortgage Risk Management Software (QRM, Compass, MIAC, etc.).Mindset focused on process, automation, new opportunities, and continuous improvement.
