Join a dynamic team as a Capital and Portfolio Manager within Investment Bank, Wholesale Lending. This role offers a unique opportunity for a highly analytical and entrepreneurial individual to drive key Investment Bank strategic objectives.

Accountability Specifics:

Execution of new balance sheet transactions to support lending growth, Barclays group collateral generation, capital optimisation and risk reduction. Act as a key portfolio management partner for BBPLC securitisations including the Retained Securitisation Platform (for collateral generation) and Colonnade (Significant Risk Transfer).Collaboration with Portfolio Management IT to deliver tech solutions to support transaction management. Build and maintain a broad network of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority across Wholesale Lending, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Lending Operations, rating agencies and external investors.

Essential Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.High degree of innovative thinking and analysis to drive successful execution of complex financing solutions.Excellent networking and communication (including presentation skills) to a range of audiences from senior leadership to external clients.Good project management skills.

Desired Skills/Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in mathematical, engineering, legal, business or science majors or equivalent experience is preferred.Modelling, legal, due diligence and transaction management experienced gained via deal structuring and/or analytics.Understanding of capital, returns and credit risk modelling (RWA, RoRWA, PD, LGD, EAD).

Purpose of the role

To manage the capital requirements of the bank's wholesale lending businesses. This includes developing and implementing capital allocation strategies, monitoring, and reporting on capital adequacy, and working with regulators to ensure compliance with all applicable capital requirements.  

Accountabilities

Development of modelling, pricing and monitoring frameworks to ensure the origination of new lending business and client relationship management is aligned to our strategic objectives for overall business returns.  Development and management of structured transactions for balance sheet optimisation and/or capital reduction in order to support the bank’s financial resource management strategy.  Analysis of the risk associated with different lending products and client relationships and adjust capital allocation accordingly.  Participation in stress testing exercises to assess the bank's ability to withstand adverse economic scenarios and propose capital adjustment strategies .Ensure lending activities are compliant with regulatory requirements.
