This role offers a chance to take the lead on the coordination, implementation, design oversight, and completion of park and park facility capital design and construction projects, ensuring compliance with the City and Bureau/Office strategies, commitments, and goals. What you'll get to do: + Manage small to large-scale capital design, construction, and renovation projects including parks, buildings, building systems (envelope, MEP, security, life safety, etc.), and structures, in accordance with professional standards and practices; lead and develop project plans; coordinate staff and contractor resources. + Lead, plan, coordinate, and manage the design, construction, and renovation of Parks facilities and properties. + Define project scope and requirements by consulting with stakeholders, including other organizational units and the public, and researching federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. + Coordinate staff, consultant, and contractor resources to achieve project goals. + Manage project budgets, plan, and schedule project timelines, and provide direction and support to the project team. + Monitor and report on project progress and issues, providing solutions to stakeholders. + Determine, implement, and manage project changes and interventions to achieve goals. + Evaluate project performance and assess results. + Work with contractors, city procurement, and capital team staff to ensure compliance with construction contract-related community benefit plans, including the City-adopted Regional Workforce Equity Agreement. + Prepare and review design and construction cost estimates, inspect project work, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies. + Manage and participate in the procurement of design consultants and construction contractors, develop RFP solicitations, and participate in pre-construction conferences. + Oversee contracts with contractors and consultants; conduct regular site visits; negotiate change orders; process progress payments; accept deliverables; monitor and ensure compliance. + Provide professional and technical advice to City Bureaus/Offices, including project solutions, alternative methods, and funding sources.
