We are currently recruiting for a Capture Manager to perform business development and capture for BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems. This position reports to the Operations & Sustainment mission area of Ground Systems and Services (GSS), which supports the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and Civil customers with a focus on customer groups that provide operations and sustainment to operational air-, sea-, ground and space systems and sensors. At the Capture Manager II level, you ll be customer focused, leading new business development and capture activities for operations and sustainment of space-related systems. A successful candidate must have a solid technical and operational background as well as customer focused, collaborative leadership qualities.
The Ground Systems & Services (GSS) Strategic Business Unit is responsible for driving business growth in the ground systems development, operations & sustainment, and technical services markets. This business unit focuses on designing, building and integrating ground systems in support of air and space-based assets, providing operational support for mission platforms and instruments and offering scientific and engineering expertise to our customers.
**What You ll Do:**
+ Lead the pursuit and capture of new business opportunities with a variety of defense, intelligence, and civil customers.
+ Support direct engagement with key government and industry customers, including expanding the company s network of potential partners.
+ Coordinate and communicate across diverse Strategic Business Units (SBUs) ensuring a unified approach to business capture.
+ Develop and carry out plans and strategies to build a business pipeline and capture new opportunities.
+ Manage business development and technical personnel to carry out capture plans and strategies to produce solutions that meet customers mission needs.
+ Lead the preparation of responses to customer opportunities, including white papers, proposals, rough order of magnitude estimates and responses to customer requests for information.
+ Provide leadership, knowledge, mentoring, staff development, application of internal processes, and management of internal budgets for execution of existing work.
+ Coordinate inputs from support organizations including engineering, contracts, finance, security, and others as needed.
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
**Working Conditions:**
+ Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
+ Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
+ Competency in the following: mission operations and operations support, space and ground systems sustainment, business development, strategic planning, and project and time management.
+ Experience in new business capture in space or related industry for defense, intelligence, and/or civil customers, to include networking skills, technical acumen, and understanding of business relationships.
+ Experience working on proposals, both classified and unclassified.
+ Excellent presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Excellent communication and proposal writing skills.
+ Extremely high commitment to ethics and professionalism in dealing with existing and potential customers and teammates.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Solid programmatic background within program environments for government or industry is a plus.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
