Summary
The Car Switcher moves railcars throughout a facility to enable their repair while operating switches, switching equipment, coupling and uncoupling rail rolling stock, and moving railcars in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Operates equipment in compliance with all facility and company policies, including location blue flag policy.Communicates issues, concerns or delays with car movement to Supervisor and Plant Superintendent.Performs daily maintenance and safety inspections, and reports concerns to Supervisor.Keeps work area clean and in good working condition.Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks with attention to detail.Ability to follow oral and written instructions, including basic blue prints and schematics.Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and contribute to a team environment.Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel toed boots, goggles, ear plugs, gloves.Preferred Qualifications
