Job Purpose R&M Specialist role performs preventive & corrective maintenance, retrofit and upgrade to electronic, mechanic, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, data acquisition systems, downhole tools & communication equipment. The role performs these tasks using Company guidelines, technical work instructions, test procedures, schematics, engineering notices, and best practices to complete the scope of functions where required under the direction and supervision of a senior R&M Specialist, Lead Specialist or Supervisor. As the senior R&M Specialist, the employee will lead and oversee these tasks carried out by other R&M employees. Responsibilities + Perform tungsten carbide welding using specialized techniques such as oxy-fuel welding or electric arc processes. + Apply carbide overlays on tools, machinery, and equipment for wear resistance and durability. + Perform 6G position welding (fixed pipe welding) using techniques such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, or FCAW. + Work with various materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloys. + Equipment Maintenance: + Maintain and calibrate welding equipment to ensure precise application. + Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues. + Inspect welded surfaces to ensure the application meets specified thickness, hardness, and quality standards. + Conduct post-weld grinding and finishing as required. + Ensure welds meet industry standards and client specifications. + Safety Compliance: + Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling of materials and equipment. + Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure workspace safety. + Follow safety protocols, including proper handling of welding equipment and hot work permits. + Documentation: + Record job details, material usage, and welding parameters for reporting and traceability. + Collaborate with quality control teams to address defects or inconsistencies. Qualifications + 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry. + High School Diploma + Basic Computer Skills + He should obtain a valid 6G certification. Experience in tungsten carbide welding or related processes. + Certification in 6G welding from a recognized authority. Skills + Working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements & explosives.
