*POSITION SUMMARY: * The Cardiac Care Tech is fully engaged in providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior Quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship by assisting licensed personnel in providing nursing care of arterial venous sheath removal and other procedures under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. *PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: * 1. Performs arterial and venous sheath removal post cardiac and radiology procedures under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. 2. Maintains and documents care of the puncture site post sheath removal under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. 3. Performs quality EKG tracing and performs Stat EKG's when requested. 4. Collects, records, and reports accurate patient information. 5. Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the health care team and promotes effective team functioning. 6. Utilizes Health First computer systems with regard to order inquiry and patient documentation. 7. Utilizes secondary skill as a monitor technician as needed; initiates patient set-up, maintains monitor equipment, runs rhythm strips and places in designated place in patient's record, and accurately identifies and reports arrhythmias. 8. Provides relief and assistance to the HUC as needed. 9. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patient care. 10. Uses and cares for equipment and supplies economically. 11. Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences. 12.
