GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost-effective functioning of the department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%)Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)Orients inexperienced staff on the operation of laboratory equipment; troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%)Anticipates adverse reactions / conditions when monitoring the effects of all procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%)Completes required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols and image storage and archival. (10%)QUALIFICATIONS:
