Provides direct patient care to cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients including various types of monitoring, education and therapeutic exercise programs.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses patient needs daily through chart review, unit nurses or cardiac nurse, physicians and interdisciplinary team.Provides exercise prescription for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen; updates prescription according to the patient's response.Schedules and coordinates patient assessment, testing, results reporting, treatment and follow up as needed.Assesses hemodynamic response and patient tolerance to activity progression and utilizes information to provide appropriate exercise prescription.Performs appropriate documentation of monitored ambulation, education and discharge planning per departmental policies, guidelines and practices as pertinent for setting.Participates in routine maintenance and calibration of the test equipment to ensure its proper operating condition and reporting the need for major repair.Assists in recruiting/interviewing and onboarding of new associates.Creates quality improvement monitoring strategies and improvement initiatives.Assist in monitoring of staff performance.Provides exercise information for patients, peers and the community which may include public speaking and education classes.Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.Frequent keyboard use/data entry.Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.Rare climbing.REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
