Cardiac Short Stay Nurse
Overview

As our Cardiac Nurse at CHI St Vincent Infirmary,  you’ll care for patients who may have life-threatening cardiac events or conditions while helping their families navigate daily care and the long-term plan for healing and maintenance outside of the hospital. 

You’ll never have the same day twice as your patients’ needs evolve. That’s why you must be adaptable and detail-oriented, observing vitals and reporting the warning signs early to our multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, EKG techs, and other cardiovascular professionals. 

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to go the extra mile for your patients and your strong assessment skills. To further support your nursing career, we offer continuing education opportunities to help you advance your clinical nursing skills.

Responsibilities
Provides assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for assigned patients.Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging

Qualifications
Unencumbered license to practice in the State of Arkansas 6 months of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses who have never worked in an acute care setting are hired through our residency training program) Previous cardiac experience preferred, but not requiredBLS through the American Heart Association is required Additional certifications (like ACLS or PALS) may be required depending on the unit
