Responsibilities

Virginia Mason Medical Center’s Cardiovascular service line is at the leading edge of advancements in cardiac care for patients with heart disease.

Our IAC-accredited Echo Lab provides high-quality diagnostic 2D and 3D imaging support for a variety of cardiac specialty programs and clinical trials, including:

structureal heart interventionsadvanced heart failure therapieshypertrophic cardiomyopathy therapieselectrophysiologycardiac surgery and valve clinic

This job offers a mix of patient care settings that consist of inpatient and outpatient services at the main campus, after-hours on-call support, and imaging support for one or more of our many outpatient regional medical centers.

Qualifications

We require: 

Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP)-accredited ultrasound program, and credentialing through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), required.   New graduates require registration within one year.

Training in cardiovascular sonography; and extensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and physics required. Skill in performing echocardiographic studies in a variety of settings, including at the patient’s bedside, required. Ability to assist immobile and/or disabled patients; ability to use reasoning and deduction in making medical judgments (e.g., tailoring studies to enhance diagnostic information); ability to use sound judgement in the face of emergencies; ability to be patient, flexible and maintain a high level of professional behavior required. Excellent interpersonal skills required.

Continuing medical education credits are required to maintain credential.
