**Overview**
Dignity Health’s Pacific Central Coast Health Centers (PHC) is a non-profit Community clinic organization comprised of more than 40 health centers located primarily from Ventura to Templeton spanning the coast. **Responsibilities**
In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers healthcare philosophy the Cardiac Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking/labeling of images provide and confirm proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease. Responsibilities may include:
+ Performs diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician.
+ Operates all ultrasound equipment computers and accessories.
+ Demonstrates competency in film-processing procedures.
+ Identifies and initiates accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions.
+ Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required
**Qualifications**
+ Three (3) years experience performing Ultrasound procedures in an outpatient facility if not RDMS.
+ RDCS or RCS or RYT or RDMS or ARDMS
+ Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
+ Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures.
+ Must also know departmental protocols and procedures.
+ Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members physicians and the patient population.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
+ Self- motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.
**Pay Range**
$56.83 - $82.40 /hour
