Under the supervision and direction of the physician, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing, documenting and communicating the results of the diagnostic 2D and M-Mode echocardiographic procedures as well as stress echocardiograms. The sonographers also responsible for the hook up, disconnect and downloading of the holter monitors.\n
\n

Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nMaintains and operates echo and Holter equipment, including performing 2D and M-Mode echocardiograms, Doppler color flow, treadmill tests, and Holter monitoring.\nCalculates and submits accurate flow velocities, valve areas, and pressure gradients, ensuring the quality of exams and preliminary reports for physician review.\nCommunicates critical results to physicians urgently and maintains accurate records for ICAEL re-certification, including peer review and quality assurance.\nEnsures cleanliness and proper stocking of echo and Holter supplies, and accurately enters codes on Medent.\nCoordinates with office management and front desk to manage workload effectively, while observing universal precautions and adhering to OSHA regulations and infection control policies.\nMaintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, responds to triages and emails promptly, and provides patient education.\nParticipates in clinical educational programs to enhance professional competence and maintain certification.\n\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nEducation: High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography Program - New grads welcome\nLicensure - Certification from ARDMS or CCI is required within six months of date of hire required. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) via the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) of Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).\n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nCompletion of a two-year Allied Health degree and successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP approved program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.\nExperience - One year of experience in a certified echocardiography laboratory preferred.\n\n
\n

Physical Requirements:\n\nAbility to stand\/sit for long periods while performing ultrasound studies. Ability to push ultrasound equipment throughout hospital for bedside testing.\nBedside, Unit Patients or Procedure patients.\n\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n\nStandard Rate of $38.56 to $57.79 per hour with Benefits\n\n
