Hello humankindness Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 200 providers and 500 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic research and leadership roles.DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrows healthcare providers. DHMG has 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout the 25 academic programs. Responsibilities

Performs Echocardiogram procedure's including Transthoracic Echocardiograms, Transesophageal Echocardiograms with Cardiologist, Stress Echocardiogram's with provider. Completes Echocardiogram reports on storage system(s) and process's finalized Echocardiogram reports for Medical billing.  Performs Echocardiograms requiring independent judgement and Initiative. Participates with ICAEL accreditation, reaccreditation and Quality Improvement QI. The Technologist will assist with a teaching environment with Fellows, students and new employee's. Coordinates with patient care employees; with day to day functioning of the echocardiography and ECG departments; acts as liaison with physicians, patients, families, and staff. Responsible for daily operation activities such as liaison between the home department and other departments to maintain access to all systems and department charges process including daily reconciliation, maintenance of patient records, monitors and ensures HIPAA compliance. Maintains ICAEL accreditation for the respective facility

Verifies physician requests for the examination by review of medical records or contacting the physician when questions arise.Performs adult echo cardiograms within ICAEL guidelines: M-Mode, Doppler, 2D and Color Flow.Schedules and performs stress medicine induced stress echocardiograms and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram's.Assist/obtains RN coverage for diagnostic testing when necessary.Complies data and develops a preliminary information worksheet for physician editing and approval.Provides basic patient care when imaging patients.Assists with first aid and provides for patient and family education of procedures.Prepares patients for transfer/transportation to other departments/areas.Assists patient to cart or bed Assists patients as needed.Transports patient when STAT or as necessary, Collaborates with other departments/trouble shoot transport issues.Compliant with Productivity for EKG and Echo Lab, maintains appropriate staffing for both departments.Responds to staff needs and provides appropriate problem resolution interventions.Functions as cross market liaison. Facilitates communication & corporation within and between departments.Input to Department Manager employee hiring, training and ongoing evaluation functions.

Qualifications

MINIMUM

Associates degree or higher level degree in related field and completion of echocardiography program

Three (3) years of experience as an echocardiography sonographer

Must have and maintain valid CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Adult Echocardiography certification (RCDSAE)

PREFERRED

Bachelor's degree in related field
