A clinically competent, registered, professional sonographer delivers care to the patient through the utilization of sonographer knowledge while performing ultrasonic imaging and related procedures as prescribed by physicians under the direction of a cardiologist. Provides quality patient care in accordance with MVRMC policies and procedures and established patient care standards and practice.
Required: A graduate of the Committee of Allied Health and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited sonography program or equivalent training in a non-academic environment providing eligibility for credentialing through CCI or ARDMS.
1. Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered; assist Cardiologist performing procedure. 2. Performs Ultrasound procedures of high technical quality. 3. Obtains pertinent medical information from patient to identify age specific needs. 4. Provides Technical interpretation for Cardiologist review. 5. Proficient in use of all equipment; reports all deficiencies to immediate supervisor. 6. Practices isolation techniques according to policy and procedure. 7. Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms. 8. Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam. 9. Stocks exam rooms between exams and at end of shift. 10. Assists in other areas of the Department as assigned
