Performs ultrasound examinations of the heart and periphery to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a physician or manager. May require an associate's degree or graduate of an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology or its equivalent and may require certification throug hthe American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARMS). Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
