Job Overview:
Prepares patients for catheterization, positioning them properly on examination tables, shaving, cleaning, and sometimes administering anesthetics. Assists Physician in determining where blockages may exist in the vessels that pump directly into and out of the heart.
Qualifications:
Required:
Current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Radiography Technologist (RT) certification. Minimum of one to two years of clinical experience in Invasive Cardiology. BLS certification required (American Heart Association). ACLS certification required.Scheduling Requirements:
Part Time20 hours/weekEssential Functions:
Assists with balloon angioplasty procedures to open up blocked blood vessels or heart valves. Works with Physician during electrophysiology tests, which locate abnormal electrical impulses in the heart tissue. Monitors patient heart rates and record information.
