A Little More About What You Will be DoingThe Cardiac Sonographer Level II, supports patient care by performing echocardiogram procedures as directed by the physician. Shows skill with the use of ultrasound equipment and associated procedures. This position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.
Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician requestPerforms a range of technical procedures that will require independent judgment for diagnosisAppropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physicianAbility to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performedActs as a role model in providing care; assists in precepting Cardio Sonographers IRetrieves studies from PACS for reviewPrepares patients for the studyQualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or GED requiredVocational/Technical DiplomaExperienceMinimum of 2 years experience performing echocardiographic studies preferredLicenses/CertificationBasic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross requiredRegistered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is required
