Job Summary

\n

The role of Manager Advanced Practice Professionals - Cardiology involves offering guidance and administrative oversight for Advanced Practice Professionals focused on certain geographical zones and/or medical or surgical specializations within Baylor Scott & White Health System. This helps these professionals meet their fundamental obligations while achieving expected results. The person occupying this role will also help orchestrate educational programs for Advanced Practice Professionals within their region and specialty. The distribution of their administrative duties will be decided primarily by their reporting doctor and regional administration, and should not surpass 20% of their total workload.

What You'll Do

\n\nOversee a team of Advanced Practice Professionals, being accountable for hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance management. You will also work closely with physician and administrative leadership on these tasks.\nPartner with the Advanced Practice Professionals Administrator on any relevant issues related to Advanced Practice Professionals.\nDeliver patient services under the guidance of a supervising physician and/or the assigned supervising staff physician.\nConduct patient interviews and examinations to identify their symptoms and create or update patient records.\nCarry out comprehensive examinations and relevant medical screening procedures. You must accurately document complete and precise information in patient records.\nAssist in forming diagnostic, therapeutic, and follow-up plans or treatment protocols when necessary.\nEvaluate laboratory data when needed, order pertinent lab tests, and follow established protocols. You will follow up on patient status and diagnostic tests and report necessary information to the supervising physician.\nCommunicate crucial information to the patient, supervising physician, and other caregivers involved in the patient's care. This includes preparing clinical progress notes and other required paperwork in alignment with Baylor Scott & White Health policies.\nAdvocate for suitable use of Advanced Practice Professionals across the region or specialty.\n\n

What Will Make You Successful In The Role

\n\nUnderstanding Federal and local Texas laws as well as legislation related to medical and nursing board governance of Advanced Practice Professionals\nFamiliarity with Joint Commission regulations regarding Advanced Practice Professional practice in hospitals and clinics\nExcels in communication. Should be able to effectively interact with a variety of medical staff and personnel with high-quality verbal, written, and interpersonal skills\nKnowledge about Medicare and Medicaid guidelines\nDefinite skills in analysis, to gather details from various sources, apply principles professionally in doing several analyses, and comprehensively summarizing this information and data to solve problems, or to create relatively complex systems and programs that cross departmental lines\nEffective in guiding, directing, mentoring, training and collaborating with a team in a consensus-building environment\nWell-acquainted with computer systems including Electronic Health Records, databases, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word\nFamiliarity with prevailing system and institutional policies, bylaws, and credentialing requirements is preferable\nProven capability for self-direction and initiating action is a necessary requirement.\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Masters' or Bachelors plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

- EXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
       Basic Life Support (BLS): Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.

       Physician Assistants (PA): .

       Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), Nurse Practitioner (NP): A CNS must currently be credentialed as a provider within the BSWH system and employed in a CNS Provider role. Must be an Advanced Practice Professional: Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Nurse Anesthetist.
