Cardiology/Cath Lab Manager
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** The Cath Lab Manager will have a call requirement of every 4th weekend and is an hourly position. Under general guidance, the Cardiology Manager provides clinical leadership and day to day supervision of the Cardiology Department; ensures that quality care is provided for inpatients and outpatients receiving invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures for inpatients and outpatients, to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, young adult, adult and geriatric age groups. Clinical performance will provide a broad range of medical diagnosis including medical, surgical, oncology, cardiac, behavioral and long-term care with acute and chronic conditions. Invasive/interventional procedures are limited to adult patients with primary or secondary cardiac disease. Clinical performance will include both dependent and independent functions based on the philosophy, objectives, standards of care and policies and procedures of Mercy Medical Center. Customers include patients, physicians, visitors, co-workers, volunteers, vendors, service engineers, and employees (non-management/management). **SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:** 1. Advanced Cardiac Life Support with annual BLS verification. 2. Clinical leadership skills with the ability to use knowledge and methods of working with/through people in performing day to day job functions. 3. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with other hospital employees, physicians, and guests in a helpful, courteous manner. 4. Competent to provide care within the Cardiology/Radiology Departments to the population described in the Scope of Services. **WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** 1. Job requires mobility to perform many technical functions. 2. Job requires use of hands for repetitive actions, fine manipulations, and simple grasping. 3. Job requires bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing and pulling (21% - 50% of time). 4. Daily chance of exposure to ionizing radiation. 5. Must be able to assist with moving patients weighing more than 60 lbs. (20-34% of time). 6. Must demonstrate the ability to interact with others in a helpful and courteous manner. 7. Must be able to see at a near visual acuity level. 8. Must be able to speak; must be able to hear speech. **MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:** 1. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or other health care discipline. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 2. Licensed by the Iowa Board of Nursing, registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or other appropriate agency. 3. Minimum of five years of direct patient care/clinical experience. 4. Previous clinical leadership experience.
