**Cardiology Medical Assistant Job Duties:**
Assist in performing and interpreting electrocardiograms (EKGs) to monitor the heart’s electrical activity. Prepare patients for stress tests, explaining the procedure and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the test. Schedule patient appointments for follow-up visits, diagnostic tests, and procedures specific to cardiology care. Maintain and sterilize cardiology equipment and instruments, ensuring all are in proper working condition for patient diagnostics and procedures. Educate patients on heart-healthy lifestyle choices, including diet, exercise, and smoking cessation, tailored to their specific cardiac conditions. Document patient medical history, vital signs, and test results in electronic health records (EHR) with precision for cardiologist review. Coordinate with cardiac rehabilitation teams to develop and implement personalized rehabilitation plans for patients recovering from heart surgery or cardiac events.
