\nFT - EKG Tech Experience Preferred. EKG certification a plus. Certified Medical Assistants, clinical exercise Physiologists, C.NA, Patient Care Tech or a related field performing these procedures are welcomed o apply.
Candidates typically performs non-invasive, stat, pre-operative and outpatient EKG and ECG testing to help physicians in the delivery of patient care. Duties includes registering patients, administering cardiac tests, and processing cardiac test findings.
Education/Experience required/desired: Has experience or education in cardiovascular technology and use specialized monitoring equipment to record electromotive variations in action of heart muscle, cardiac rhythms, rhythm analysis, Holter monitoring, and stress testing.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 7- 3:30PM
JOB SUMMARY
\nThe Cardiology Tech 2 is accountable for performing non-invasive, stat, pre-operative and outpatient EKG testing to help physicians in the delivery of patient care. Records electromotive variations in action of heart muscle by using electrocardiograph machine to give data for diagnosis of heart ailments. May help junior staff.
\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
\n\nCompletes all necessary steps to get and process electrocardiograms and other tests.\nExplains test procedures to prepare patients for the process and to give them with the necessary instructions. Utilizes all equipment associated with EKG procedures, and records the necessary information to obtain high quality results. Monitors heart rates, arrhythmias and blood pressure, under the supervision of a physician.\nPerforms Holter Monitor Hooks ups. Performs event recorder hook-ups and trans telephonic monitoring in the Pacemaker Clinic. Performs stress tests under the supervision of a Senior EKG Technician or a physician. Perform Enhanced External Counteropulsation (EECP) treatments. Performs Signal Average EKGs. Performs Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring.\nPerforms basic functions on the MUSE EKG database system. Reviews medical record and documentation under supervision of a physician, nurse, or senior EKG tech to ensure department standards for safety and appropriate procedure are met.\nUtilizes all equipment associated with EKG procedures properly and records the necessary information accurately to obtain high quality results.\nMonitors vital signs under the supervision of a physician, nurse or senior EKG tech, as well as recording EKG data during study to ensure patient safety. Participates as part of diagnostic team, when working with other departments, to give ancillary cardiac testing services.\nDownloads EKG's accurately for proper storage and retrieval; performs retrievals as necessary. Prints record and attaches proper documentation to tracing for all billing transactions. Inputs patient demographic and test data into computerized EKG machine accurately and in a timely way.\nInstructs and trains new people in the proper use of equipment and testing protocols in a professional way. Mentors junior technicians in the proper procedures of arrhythmia recognition to ensure their use of safe testing methods.\nPerforms other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous way.\n\nKEY SUCCESS FACTORS
