Job Overview:
Responsible for performing the graded exercise testing under the supervision of the staff R.N. The tech assists the pt. in getting ready for the test: applies electrodes, may need to take vital signs, watches the monitor, etc. Notifies R.N. for any abnormalities in heart rhythm. Displays Service Excellence and has strong interpersonal skills. Cognizant of cardiac abnormalities. May need to perform EKG’s, holter monitor testing, or EKG’s.
Job Requirements:
High School Degree
May need to start IV’s
Up to 1 year experience in a related field
Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrates clinical competency. Explains procedures, properly applies electrodes, watches the monitor during exercise and aware of any cardiac abnormalities. Prepares room, cleans up.
Demonstrates Service Excellence values to all customers. Is kind, helpful, and courteous to points. Displays teamwork efforts with other staff. Demonstrates flexibility.
Helps ensure proper testing. Helps patients get started on time, minimizes delays if possible. Makes the bed, stocks supplies.
May also perform EKG's, apply halters, etc. Performs proper protocol. Charges, files as needed. May assist in other cardiology duties.
Recognized emergency situations and acts appropriately. Stays current with cardiology trends.
