Cardiovascular Aide SSUB/TRIN
Major Responsibilities: Clinical     4)Participation in the team approach for patients undergoing invasive cardiology/interventional radiology procedures. This includes all areas of pre and post procedure care of the patient including but not limited to the following; preparation of the patient for all invasive cardiology procedures and the maintenance, inventory, stocking and sterile preparations of all equipment, parts, catheter devices and room preparations for each procedure, room turnover, the removal and documentation of sheaths, patient transport, the application of pressure dressings and hold devices when necessary. Each staff member must take part in a call rotation for overnight and weekend coverage.     1)Monitoring and documenting patients’ hemodynamics and cardiac rhythms during invasive cardiac procedures in Merge monitoring system.     2)Provision of specialized care for patients undergoing invasive cardiology/interventional radiology procedures.     3)Assistance in the maintenance of quality control in all areas of the department.     5)The Cardiovascular Aide is proficient in basic life support and advance cardiac life support (ACLS) techniques as recommended by the American Heart Association. Customer Satisfaction     1)Serve as patient advocate to ensure patient and other customer needs met in a timely and efficient manner that provides a safe and diagnostic outcome.     2)Facilitates department schedules, communicate processes to optimize patient and physician satisfaction.     3)Provide patient/family education that supports procedures and meet standards. Educational     1)Participate in departmental education programs, staff meetings and process improvement initiatives.     2)Stays abreast of current standards via literature, educational events, internal/external resources and internal/external networking. Education/Experience Required:•Must have High School Diploma Must have 3 yrs hospital direct patient care experience. (prefer critical care Previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Basic knowledge of EKG and hemodynamics.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:• Computer literacy • Excellent interpersonal ,organizationaland communication skills. Deonstrated customer service skills with problem resolution ability. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel • CPR certification ACLS certified within the first 6 months of employment. EKG within first 6 months of employment certified

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions: • Ability to function in a high stress environment lifts and moves heavy patients, and stand for long periods of time. • Must be able to work flexible hours and work on an on-call basis. Perform all work in accordance with regulatory safety procedures and requirements including OSHA Radiation exposure requires wearing lead aprons, thryoid collars and lead glasses (radiation exposure is monitored with badges). Postiential exposure to bodily fluids requires use of Standard Precautions.Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
