Cardiovascular Device Technician (Southdale Clinic)

Why UMPhysicians? 

The Cardiovascular Device Technician facilitates and maintains efficient, organization and continuity of care within the device clinic.  The cardiovascular technician provides clerical and administrative support to the device clinic. The cardiovascular device technician performs delegated functions of data collection and delivery of care to an assigned group of patients, or individualized patient.  The cardiovascular device technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, or physician/authorized practitioner and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.  The cardiovascular device technician is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and practice guidelines. 

What you will do as a Cardiovascular Device Technician:

Collects data and does primary patient assessments for cardiac devices.Patient InstructionTechnical SkillsDelivers care to assigned patient population, or individual patient.Communicates effectively with other members of the healthcare teamDemonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population servedPerforms other duties including Performance Goals developed by manager and employee and reported in the employee’s Performance Review as part of UMPhysicians’ Performance Management tools

What you will need:

Trained and deemed proficient to evaluate patients via remote monitoringJob candidates are required to pass an online prescreening assessment when applying for this position. Current BLS certification/course completion.  Ability to keyboard and utilize computer software.Minimum of 3 years of medical work in clinical setting.  Knowledge of EKG and cardiology devices.  Knowledge of how to operate cardiac device equipment.Ability to put patients at ease while performing procedures and tests that may be very uncomfortable.

Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week
