The Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Cardiovascular Institute is recruiting a full time Heart Failure cardiologist to join the Advanced Heart Failure/ Pulmonary Hypertension team at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. The Cardiovascular Institute at AHN includes a comprehensive panel of physicians, including multiple cardiology service lines (heart failure, electro-physiology, general cardiology, interventional cardiology and imaging), cardiothoracic and vascular surgery as well as cardiac critical care. The heart failure section currently employs eight cardiologists board-certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology and three full time cardiothoracic transplant surgeons.

Job Duties

In-patient, outpatient clinic (at AGH and outreach) and cardiac catheterization lab dutiesIn-patient service includes on-call, rounding on primary service and consults as well as ICU duties; Cath lab duties include hemodynamic assessment, endomyocardial biopsiesMentoring trainees in Dept of Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease fellowship and Heart Failure fellowship

Job Qualifications

MD or DO degree and completed an ACGME-accredited cardiovascular / heart failure fellowshipQualified candidates are board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.Excellence in the entire spectrum of heart failure and pulmonary hypertensionExpertise in temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support as well as cardiac transplantationRecent graduates are welcome to applyCurrent PA MD licensure in good standing upon hire; current unrestricted DEA certificate

Salary and academic appointments at Drexel University will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement, and incentive through a practice plan. Candidates with a demonstrated record of research and publication will be preferred.
