All while understanding that **together** we are even better. **Schedule:** Full-time **Shift:** Monday-Friday 8-5pm **Location** : 1605 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, 32789 **The community you’ll be caring for:** + More than 800 physicians, 450 advanced practice providers, and 2,600 clinical and support staff in over 40 specialties, provide patients with a broad range of medical and surgical services. + AdventHealth Medical Group Central FL operates over 200 offices, providing compassionate, multidisciplinary care to more than one million patients a year. + In existence since 1994, AdventHealth Medical Group Central FL has demonstrated consistent growth and stability in an ever-changing health care market. **The role you’ll contribute:** The Cardiac Scheduling Specialist receives incoming calls regarding providers that are covering at the hospital for record requests, room number changes, patient status updates, procedure scheduling and diagnostic testing, and patient transfers. Screens all hospital consults and updates the daily rounding list along with registering new patients in the designated computer system. Schedules all out-patient invasive procedures and cosmetic or medically necessary vein clinic appointments, as requested. Schedules all in-patient invasive procedures and diagnostic and PAT appointments, as applicable. Obtains all authorizations for the procedures and handles the pre-testing paperwork including submitting the documentation to the hospital. Obtains all office notes and pre-procedure lab work prior to procedure date. Assists the office’s appointment schedulers and receptionists by answering incoming calls to schedule new, post-op and established patients or with any other scheduling issues as they arise. Provides Administrative Assistant support to Providers to include, but not limited to, schedule meetings and maintain daily calendars, coordinate travel, handle all correspondence, maintain time-off/No-call requests, and various other administrative duties, as applicable. **The value you’ll bring to the team:** + Effectively manages all incoming calls on the hospital cell phone regarding providers that are covering at the hospital. + Screens all hospital consults for AH Orlando, AH Altamonte, AH Winter Park, AH Kissimmee, and AH Celebration. Accurately updates the daily rounding list and faxes records for established office patients to the hospital. Accurately registers new patients in the designated computer system. + Faxes updated rounding list to night nurse at 7pm, Monday through Friday. Provides the night nurse with the physician sign-out and any pending consults or procedures.Faxes weekday and weekend call schedule daily to the answering service, as applicable. + Appropriately handles all of the radiology requests and assists with the authorization process of calling insurance companies and getting calls transferred through with the physicians. + Schedules all out-patient invasive procedures and cosmetic or medically necessary vein clinic appointments, as requested. Schedules all in-patient invasive procedures and diagnostic and PAT appointments, as applicable. Speaks to patients about their procedure while they are in the office or on the phone. Obtains all authorizations for the procedures and handles the pretesting paperwork including submitting the documentation to the hospital when necessary. Obtains all office notes and pre-procedure lab work prior to procedure date. + Helps with weekend or holiday coverage when needed. **The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:** **Minimum qualifications** : + High school graduate or equivalent **Preferred qualifications:** + Associates Degree + Experience working in a healthcare environment + Experience dealing with hospital departments strongly preferred. + Cardiology and scheduling experience.
