Cardiovascular Technologist – Mercy Lorain Hospital
Shift/Schedule
Full Time - Scheduled for 40hrs/wkShift Times - 7am-5:30pm (10hr shifts, Monday-Friday)Weekday and weekend on call availabilityUnder the direction and supervision of radiologist/physicians, performs all procedures within the special Procedures section of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and the Cardiac catheterization Lab. Also performs general radiographic examinations as required. Observes all radiation safety guidelines and performs any other duties which assist in the provision of quality patient care according to the mission and values of the health center.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school education.
Successful completion of an AMA approved training program in radiologic technology and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Advanced schooling/credentialing and certification are required to advance into areas of echocardiography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and mammography. Advanced study and certification preferred to advance to CAT SCAN, MRI and special procedures.
Approximately one to two year’s experience necessary in order to become familiar with equipment and procedures.
Working Conditions
Normal patient care environment with little exposure to noise, dust, temperature and the like.
Frequent exposure to radiation with little change of injury when established safety procedures are followed.
Substantial physical effort exerted up to 50% of work time.
Ability to walk, stand, and bend more than 80% of time.
Frequent exposure (50% to 80%) to adverse conditions.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to assigned Manager/Lead Imaging Technologist.
