Summary:

With indirect supervision, the Care Associate/Care Tech II performs clerical functions including but not limited to: patient reception, appointment scheduling, computer data entry, maintains patient files, and sorts office mail. Performs functions related to billing includes enters charges, collects and posts payments, and reconciles deposits. Obtains patient vital signs, administers injections, performs pulmonary function tests, draws labs, conducts Breath Alcohol tests, audiometric testing, assists physician with procedures, prepares for procedures as necessary, answers the telephone, performs drug screens and other duties as assigned.

 

Experience/Education Requirements:

High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.Ability to spell, alphabetize and count accurately.Ability to work in an automated environment required.Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.Previous clinical experience preferred including the ability to take vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, and injections.Experience in a  healthcare setting preferred, including customer service/receptionist experience.

Responsibilities:
Administers subcutaneous injections per RMG policy.Performs venipunctures and non-blood specimen collection according to policy.Answers telephone/takes messages.Assists physician and/or nurse with procedures for immediate care and occ med follows ACOEM protocols for workman's compensation.Checks patients in and collects appropriate payments for Agility and EPIC.Cleans exam rooms.Collect and documents clinical data in EPIC and Agility according to protocol.Completes proper documentation for referrals in Agility and EPIC applications.Documents missed appointments in patient record in Agility.Files/scans patient test results, records, and other paperwork timely and accurately in Agility.Follows established policies and procedures for RMC/RMG and all software applications.Greets patients courteously and escorts them to the exam room.Keeps current on all certifications (DOT drug and alcohol, audio) if applicable.Maintains POCT quality control and unknown specimen proficiencies.Performs accurate computer data entry of tests/procedures orders, patient demographics and patient charges in EPIC and Agility applications.Performs drug screens/BAT and assists providers in initial injury treatment.Performs electrocardiograms.Performs functions related to the billing process including ICD-10 and CPT coding. Enters charges, collects and posts payments, reconciles deposits for billing for Agility application.Performs glucometer/cholesterol testing.Performs pulmonary function tests, pulse oximetry, nebulizer treatments as instructed by provider.Proficient at Agility registrations.Schedules patient clinical appointments/diagnostics and follow-up appointments in Agility and EPIC applications.Takes accurate patient vital signs and documents in Agility and EPIC.Performs accurate registrations and demographics in Agility and EPIC systems per protocol. Collects and documents clinical data.Fills supply orders from other RMG Immediate Care offices for occ med supplies. Helps with supplies for onsites, physicals, drug screen, wellness, fit testing.Part of on call staff for drug and alcohol testing for after hour post accident and reasonable suspicion collections per WFH company protocols. May work at other location onsite per managers discretion for coverage.
