The Care Navigator (Spanish Bilingual) ensures that members with limited English proficiency whose primary language is Spanish receive and understand health care information and services necessary to access care, make informed health care decisions, and achieve their health care goals in a way that is culturally appropriate and responsive.
The Care Navigators are expected to provide detailed benefit, eligibility and premium information, educate members in the appropriate use of health plan and clinic services, research and respond to claims and authorization inquiries, and resolve customer issues and concerns. The position requires a high degree of problem solving, a thorough understanding of health plan operations, including claim processing, enrollment processing, benefit and contract interpretation, medical management initiatives, and customer relations. The Care Navigator is responsible for providing interpreter and in-language services for patients and their support system with the health plan and at point-of-care.

This posting is for multiple openings of a Care Navigator This position is affiliated with Providence Health Plan and will be tied to a location and compensation range in Beaverton, Oregon Position Type: Full Time, Temporary, Benefitted Length of Term: February 2025 - September 2025 The position will last approximately 8 months and is anticipated to end around 9/30/2025, however, this may change based upon an actual start date for the role and department needs Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Weekly Work Hours: 40 On occasion as required, travel to onsite events will be needed, the amount of travel and frequency of travel is defined by manager and departmental needs Training Requirements: This position will require onsite presence for training, 3 days per week Onsite work days are defined by manager and training departmental needs Initial Training Period: 8-12 weeks Training period may extend for a longer period of time based upon performance Pay Differential for Fluent Bi-Lingual English / Spanish speaking individuals based upon meeting language testing requirements and performance
Required qualifications for this position include:
HS Diploma or GED Equivalency 2+ years working in a patient/member-facing role in a healthcare setting Combined Patient / Member-Facing experience may be defined as follows: 2 Years: Patient Care Services within a healthcare setting 2 Years: Community Healthcare Navigation Credentialed Health Care Interpreter in the State of Oregon with 2 years combined experience 2 Years: Customer Service within a Healthcare Setting 2 Years: Healthcare: Benefits Advocacy 2 Years: Healthcare: Certified Nursing Assistant 2 Years: Healthcare: Medical Assistant 2 Years: Healthcare: Home Health and Hospice 2 Years: Healthcare: Pharmacy 2 Years: Healthcare: Nutrition Services 2 Years: Healthcare: Medical Billing / Insurance Verification 2 Years: Healthcare: Claims Processing 2 Years: Healthcare: Benefits 2 Years: Healthcare: Insurance Policy Support 2 Years: Healthcare: Administrative Office Active and valid State of Oregon driver’s licensePreferred qualifications for this position include:
