Career Preparation (CPP) Specialist

Responsible for the successful implementation the career preparation program which takes place in the students first sixty days, including instruction and oversight of assigned students. This position has a significant emphasis on promoting new student retention as student are most vulnerable to dropping out in the first sixty days. The CPP program is designed to prepare and ensure readiness of students for entrance into the academic training, and career readiness programs.

Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent.


Preferred: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree. Four years related professional work experience. One year experience in career development, workforce development, counseling, sales, marketing, or related field. Two or more years’ experience in career development, workforce development, counseling, sales, marketing, or related field.


General Information: In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must have regular attendance.


Knowledge Required:  Sound knowledge of case management, career counseling, employment counseling and job search, job preparation and development techniques. Must be able to effectively communicate with culturally disadvantaged and minority youth. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Excellent communication skill, both oral and written. Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/FA certification. Good organizational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students
