Caregiver Support Specialist (Bilingual)

The Bilingual Caregiver Support Specialist is an advocate for Caregivers, relying on their own experience as a Caregiver for youth involved in the child welfare system to walk alongside caregivers, increasing support, knowledge, and opportunities for shared parenting. As a Caregiver Support Specialist you will facilitate trainings, including crisis intervention trainings, provide feedback to caregivers and encourage self-reflection, work collaboratively with Foster Care Supervisors and Licensing Representatives, as well as maintain documentation and statistics regarding participation.

Candidate qualifications:

Highschool diploma or equivalent required.  Three years of experience providing care for adolescents in the foster care system required.  Ability to speak English and Spanish required. A valid driver’s license, insurance and a reliable vehicle required.

Job details:

Compensation: Range starts at $18/hr. Offers are commensurate with experience.  Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here). Location: Hybrid; must be in reasonable driving distance to either Chicago or Rockford for occasional in person meetings.  Schedule: Full-time; hourly; general business hours with some flexibility required for accommodating meetings, schedules, and special projects.  Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
