The GBA cargo team generates revenue and provides seamless multi-modal solutions for cargo moving into & out of GBA via HK. The role is responsible to develop sales and enhance service offerings for air cargo into and out of GBA via HK

Key Responsibilities

Achieve Revenue Target:

Optimize space and payload utilization for flights out of Guangzhou (where applicable).Maximize short-to-medium term revenue into GBA.Engage with outports and drive consignee sales for inbound opportunities.Coordinate with internal stakeholders to pursue Head Office cargo strategies and Key Performance Indicators.Engage with key customers in the GBA.Provide market intelligence to management for sales planning.

Account Management and Explore New Business Opportunities:

Establish and manage relationships with shippers, industry partners, and associations.Drive growth in tenders by retaining existing clients and onboarding new ones.Promote new intermodal solutions to connect GBA and Hong Kong.Manage agent portfolios and optimize distribution mix.

Manage GBA Intermodal Sales Practices:

Ensure compliance with Corporate Compliance policies.Work with vendors and internal business units to map and structure tactics.Align sales practices with GBA (HKG & CAN) sales team.Provide sales customer services to drive premium selling and regular import business.Collaborate within GBA business units to craft the best solutions for clients and the company.

Internal Stakeholder Management:

Facilitate communication and coordination among GBA and HK sales teams, cargo commercial teams, and cargo services delivery team.Provide service recovery options.Participate in new initiatives and projects, providing feedback and support.Support and oversee company events and promotions within GBA.Conduct ad-hoc projects and analysis as required.

People Development and Performance Management:

Lead, support, and encourage the team to achieve success.Build a strong and motivated team with the right organizational structure.Supervise and mentor direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration.Demonstrate leadership in accordance with Cathay’s core values.Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities.Maintain active dialogue regarding employee goals and performance.Enhance communication and understanding of department goals.Support People Managers in designing and conducting internal development programs.

Operational Duty Holder (if applicable):

Act as the Remote Operational Duty Holder or Delegate for port CAN/ZTI.Fulfill Cargo Operational Duty Holder responsibilities as per company requirements.Ensure safe operation of services, including those contracted to others.Manage operational performance and supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance (where applicable):

Conform to safety and security standards, meeting all company, local, international aviation, authority, and legal requirements.Make timely decisions to improve efficiency and comply with safety and security mandates.Promote a culture of zero tolerance on safety and security incidents.Ensure incidents are fully investigated with remedial actions to prevent recurrence.Implement and maintain the Safety Management System.Undertake Emergency and Accident roles as required.

E&A:

Handle Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required.Requirements

Academic qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferably in logistics, sales and marketing or business related subjects

Knowledge, skills, training and experience

Minimum 8 years’ cargo and/or airline experience preferably in commercial related fields such as sales/corporate sales, marketing and distribution, and knowledge on operations/service delivery side, of which at least 4 years is in a management roleGood command of English, written and spokenExcellent communication and presentation skillsGood business acumen with sound analytical and negotiation skillsSound knowledge of Microsoft Office with focus on Excel and DatabaseKnowledge of air cargo sales in both export and import / service / operations / systems will be advantageousPersonal & Application Information
