This role will be responsible for installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems and telecommunications facilities.

Essential Job Duties

Structured Cabling Systems Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, basket, conduit, J-hooks). Install, terminate, test, and label low voltage copper cables (Telco, Cat 3, 5, 5e, 6, coax). Install, terminate, test, and label fiber optic cables. Dress and route cables into telecommunication rooms, racks, cabinets, and workstation areas. Build-out telecommunication and equipment rooms, racks, and cabinets including contained hardware. Troubleshoot and repair existing data, telco, and fiber cables. Install patch cables and jumpers to create a data path between hardware within the cable plant. Utilize Fluke testers and multi-meters for cable testing. Grounding and Bonding Install and maintain grounding and bonding systems in telecommunication and equipment rooms. Conduct scheduled ground check testing to ensure systems are working within required parameters. Facilities Systems Install and maintain power distribution and backup / conditioning power components (PDU, UPS). Install and maintain physical environment monitoring systems (monitoring appliances, temperature probes). Update facilities system devices within monitoring software platform. Documentation Prepare and submit weekly progress reports Develop and update test results and cable plant documentation. Interpret, follow, and update blue prints and design drawings. Qualifications and Requirements

One (1) or more years work in structured cabling systems or low voltage electrical required. Valid driver’s license required. High school diploma or GED required. Familiarity with BICSI and ANSI/TIA telecommunications standards preferred. Structured cabling industry certifications (BICSI, Corning, Commscope, etc.) preferred. Ability to occasionally lift (50 lbs) and carry items short distances, including up a flight of stairs required. Ability to work at heights from scaffolding, lifts, and ladders required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) or equivalent software required. Good verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical constituents required. Proven ability to achieve results through self and in collaboration with others required. Produce results in a safe manner and with industry acceptable workmanship required. Working knowledge of project management, construction management, I.T. systems a plus. 

Working Conditions

Position based at a mining site. Day travel to other mining locations within the region. 4 Day, 10 hour schedule with overtime hours to accommodate project requirements. Rotating after hours on-call.
