Who You Are
The Carpentry Supervisor is responsible for planning, managing and resolving customer requests and inquiries related to the operations that occur at a facility which may include facilities planning, design, construction, allocation of offices and furniture, food services, janitorial, landscaping, move services and maintenance or repair activities. In addition, Facility Operations functions may also include office service activities such as mail services, forms management, reprographics and office supplies. Applies policies, procedures and best practice processes to support facilities management and office services activities. Under general direction, supervises and reviews for accuracy and effectiveness within a specialized function. Performs complex assignments and fulfills broad responsibilities where compulsory outcomes are defined, but methods and procedures may vary based on judgment or precedent. Coordinates the work of others on assignments and allocates work to and assists less experienced team members.
This role will be located in Chantilly, VA or Springfield, VA. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
This is a contingent position based upon contract award.
What You’ll Do
As Carpenter Supervisor you will:
Plan Facility Operations: Plan and manage operations at the facility which includes facilities planning, design, construction, and allocation of offices and furniture.
Manage Customer Requests: Oversee and resolve customer requests and inquiries related to various services such as food services, janitorial, landscaping, move services, and maintenance or repair activities.
Supervise Office Services: Supervise office service activities including mail services, forms management, reprographics, and office supplies management.
Apply Policies and Procedures: Implement and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices in facilities management and office services to maintain operational standards.
Supervise Staff: Provide general direction, supervise, and review the accuracy and effectiveness of work performed by the carpentry team, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Assign Work: Coordinate and allocate work among team members, taking into account individual strengths and project requirements to maximize productivity and quality.
Guide Less Experienced Team Members: Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced team members, helping them understand complex assignments and improving their skills.
Ensure Safety Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with safety regulations and standards, minimizing risks associated with carpentry and facilities management tasks.
Monitor Facility Conditions: Regularly inspect and evaluate the condition of the facility's infrastructure, initiating maintenance or upgrades as necessary to ensure optimal operation and safety.
Report Management: Maintain detailed reports on operations, staff performance, and project progress to inform higher management and aid in decision-making.
Fulfill Broad Responsibilities: Handle complex assignments and fulfill broad responsibilities, adapting methods and procedures based on judgment or precedent to achieve defined outcomes.

Qualifications:
10+ years’ experience in carpentry, including advanced woodworking skills and knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
Strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with others to complete projects.
Ability to maximize technical, performance, and operational efficiencies and minimize lifecycle costs.
Ability to maximize services and capabilities, provisioned as a service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an undergraduate degree with 6-10+ years’ experience in carpentry, including advanced woodworking skills and knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
Clearance: Must possess an active U.S Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required. Willingness to take a polygraph and upgrade clearance as required.
