Job Description

CARPENTER, Facilities-Repair and Maintenance, to perform carpentry work in all areas of the Institute using a wide range of carpentry tools.  Will repair, install, and maintain all types of wood and metal doors, panic hardware, mortise locks, exit devices, and door closures; install VCT floors and other types of flooring; install drop ceilings and other types of ceilings; build walls using drywall and studs; make and install laminate counters, wooden shelves, and cabinets; and use woodworking tools and machinery, e.g., jointer, shaper, mortise and tenon, lathe and thickness planner, table saws, sander machine and general hand tools.  May be called in to work to board up broken windows or doors or to assist with other emergency repairs.
