DescriptionPurpose/Description Carpenters maintain buildings and structures in DPS Roads and Parks Divisions under the general supervision of a DPS Carpenter Supervisor 2. Required Tasks Carpentry maintenance and repair in buildings and yards in Roads, Parks and some other out-county locations. Repair overhead garage doors and maintenance as needed. Repair and replacement of pedestrian doors and locks Build cabinets and counter tops. Remodel offices. Fix roof leaks. Repair and replace floor and ceiling tiles (working at heights as needed) including decking on equipment. Repair and replace salt shed doors. Install file cabinet locks . Use lifts to perform skilled work. Operate power equipment, saws, planes, drill router, etc. Repair/replace decking (Low-boy or walkway). QUALIFICATIONS Experience/Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent AND Licensed journeyman Carpenter in the state of Michigan Possess a valid state of Michigan Driver's License and a safe and acceptable driving record (no more than 7 points) The Charter County of Wayne The Charter County of Wayne is Michigan's largest county.
