We are looking for a Lead Carpentry who is dedicated, skilled, and ready to eventually run their own jobs. The primary responsibilities of this role involve inspecting attics for roof and siding entry points for small animals, performing light carpentry and caulking, and providing excellent customer service through communication and solution delivery.Responsibilities:Inspect Attics: Evaluate attics for roof and siding entry points used by bats and other small animals.Perform Carpentry & Caulking: Carry out light carpentry work, including repairing window soffits and foundation areas, as well as caulking cracks, holes, and gaps.Animal Entry Point Identification: Locate and address animal entry points by installing boards, plywood, or other materials to close off larger access points.Customer Communication: Communicate with customers to explain the issue, provide clear estimates for materials and labor, and offer solutions to ensure the safety and comfort of their homes.Material Management: Maintain a clean and organized company truck, ensuring that materials and tools are properly stocked, organized, and ready for the next job.Humane Animal Solutions: Ensure humane treatment of animals by implementing natural methods to encourage their departure from the home without harm.Job Site Supervision: Oversee job sites, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.Lead and Train Team: Train and mentor less experienced crew members and ensure work is completed to company standards.Job Documentation: Maintain accurate job documentation, including work orders, estimates, and service logs for each project.Essential Skills & Qualifications:Experience: 2+ years of general construction experience.Carpentry Skills: Knowledge and experience in light carpentry, framing, and basic construction tasks.Tool Proficiency: Ability to use both hand and power tools safely and effectively.Clean MVR: Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).Physical Requirements: Ability to work in varied environmental conditions (attics, outdoors) and lift materials and tools as needed.Safety Conscious: Commitment to safety protocols, including the humane treatment of animals and adherence to job safety standards.Additional Skills & Qualifications:General Construction Experience: Experience in carpentry, framing, drywall installation, finish carpentry, and general labor.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify problems and develop solutions quickly and effectively.Customer Service Experience: Comfortable communicating with customers and providing clear, concise explanations of work being done.Why Work Here?Supportive Environment: Join a team-oriented company with opportunities for personal growth and career advancement.Commission Opportunities: Earn additional income through commissions on all jobs once certified.Paid Time Off: Enjoy paid vacation and holidays.Flexibility: We offer a flexible work environment that values work-life balance.Work Environment:Outdoor & Attic Work: Work in attics (which can vary in temperature) and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.Hours: Standard working hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday - Friday.Job Type & Location:Position Type: Contract to HireLocation: Based out of Des Moines, Iowa, with job sites in surrounding areas.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
